できました！ありがとうございます。

教えていただいたとおりにやって
報告者名と最終更新日を消すことはできたのですが
表示させたかったデータへのパスをトップページの項目と設定すると、
やはり長すぎて表がうまく表示されません。

以前ディレクトリへのパスへリンクを設定するために

\\176.13.×.×.\C\test\041004-01

などのようなディレクトリへリンクする場合
パス専用のフィールドを追加して

def do_render(element,value)
 Value.href(value)
end

というものを使えば、リンクできると教えていただきましたが

do_renderの引数である
element　（おそらくアドレス）と　value（表示？）を切り分ければ
トップページの項目に表示されるのは

上の
\\176.13.×.×.\C\test\041004-01

は

041004-01

だけで表示できるとおもうのですが
どうでしょうか？

Rubyが不勉強で文字列操作もままならず
思いつきでいったのですが
もしよろしければお教えください。
